Swann-Morton® : quality assurance

The quality of the Swann-Morton® bistouries, handles and scalpels is especially the result of Swann-Morton® ’s many years’ effort to improve the development and quality by making use of the latest technologies. “Cobalt 60”, their own sterilisation-unity, gives them a full independence in all their sterilisation processes. The irradiation and microbiological facilities are supplied to other manufacturers (Swann-Morton® (Services) Ltd and Swann-Morton® (Microbiological Laboratory Supplies) Ltd) by contract.

Swann-Morton® ’s engagement for quality is supported by the fact that it was the first producer of chirurgical knives that gained the accreditation certificate BS5750 and subsequently obtained the ISO9001 certificate. Swann-Morton® is likewise one of the first producers in the medical world that installed an own sterilisation fabric. Quality is not only the result of applied technology: all the products are also subjected to an inspection at which 100% is the minimum requirement and every chirurgical knife is inspected at least twice. Surgeons worldwide entrust their patients’ lives to the chirurgical Swann-Morton® knives. Swann-Morton® guarantees that their products offer a constant quality.
