Mild decalcifier, RDF, 1L, Cellpath
RDF™ is a formic acid decalcifier based on a well-proven Christensans formulation offering a slower and more easily controlled rate of decalcification than RDC™. It is recommended for larger more dense specimens where a slower reaction rate is required to prevent localized over decalcification. With RDC™, decalcification of small pieces of bone, for example from biopsies with trephines, can be completed within 3 to 10 hours. In addition to hydrochloric acid it also contains protein and membrane stabilisers to protect morphological and staining characteristics. Proven formulation gives consistent reliable results. Minimal tissue damage. Safe packaging for safe storage. Includes MSDS. Shelf life: 2 years.

Needle biopsies may be completely fixed and decalcified in one hour or less. Small bone specimens and calcified arteries may be completely fixed and decalcified in approximately 2-4 hours. Tissues decalcified in this solution cut with ease and routine H&E techniques produce excellent stained sections.
